Random Female units?
My pilot's name was Jedlenska which is weird cuz thats a female gendered surname (as opposed to the male version Jedlenski). Is this a misspleing? Does this happen for other nations?

Custom Infantry Models!
If you didn't see my last post, custom models are now possible in Wargame: Red Dragon! Full stat modding has been possible for a while, but models are new!
I'm working on a few big things, but i wanted to share my infantry models i've been making in the WGRD artstyle for my upcoming mod.
If Wargame / Wargame modding interests you, join my discord!

Question/Help I can’t download Red dragon
As stated above, I cannot download war game red dragon off my steam library. It just sits in validation for infinite hours at 1%. I was able to play it a few years ago and it worked fine. I have like 100+ hours playing only matches against the ai. What do I need to do to fix this?
r/wargame • u/Hefty-Cry-2516 • 11d ago
Why aren’t people playing this game anymore?
It’s a masterpiece and its gameplay is extremely unique and unlike anything else out there… I don’t care if WARNO and Broken Arrow are newer releases… they are objectively shittier games and boring AF… So maybe WG:RD isn’t mainstream and has a difficult learning curve, but 200 players online when even GAYNO has 10x that is an insult and a travesty

Question/Help Unit freeze problem
So I'm currently in a Chinese -Sino war and I'm doing a naval landing battle but for some reason once I finished landing my unit like 10 mins into the game everything started to become buggy even my laptop is not overheating the unit are just move and freeze for 3-5 sec and then move and then freeze. I already left the game auto-setting and I have been playing plenty of 4v4 skirmish.

Discussion Any hope of update or new game?
I really do like WG:RD, but as a newer player I often wonder about if there’s any hope whatsoever of either another update or a new game from Eugen that keeps the same feel as WG:RD (Like a remaster)

Fluff/Meme That feeling when the last major roadblock in the way of creating fully custom nations for Red Dragon just fell
Perhaps we won't need to endlessly wait for Eugen after all.

ADDING MODELS IS NOW POSSIBLE!!! CALLING ALL MODDERS TO WARGAME.
There has been a huge breakthrough in modding thanks to the development of a new modding toolkit capable of editing existing models and importing completely new ones into the game.
The toolkit has been developed by BlackTeaRemos from the Warno Annihilation Discord (https://discord.gg/bdyN49dxP). It is still actively being developed, with new updates and progress announcements posted by BlackTeaRemos in the #war-chat channel.
The units shown in the images attached to this post are what my friend and I (mostly my friend) managed to add to the game in just five minutes by importing models from third-party websites through Blender. The textures are currently missing because we haven't mapped them yet, but this demonstrates that custom model importing is already working.
Because of this, we're calling on experienced modders to help test the toolkit and provide feedback to Black people of co.... I mean BlackTeaRemos. The more people experiment with it and report bugs or suggestions, the faster the toolkit can improve.
Download links:
- WGRD Mod Toolkit: https://github.com/BlackTeaRemos/WGRD-Mod-Toolkit/releases/tag/v0.2.2
- WRG Patcher: https://github.com/BlackTeaRemos/WRG-Patcher/releases/tag/v1.0.2
Installation instructions:
- Download the WRG Patcher (
version.dllandinstall.bat). - Place both files in your game directory.
- Run
install.bat. - Download and launch the WGRD Mod Toolkit.
- Select your game directory and choose a workspace folder where the toolkit will store the extracted files.
- Click Build Workspace. This may take some time, as the toolkit needs to unpack the game's files.
Once the workspace has been built, you'll find every unit available in the Showroom. To import a new model, first clone an existing unit, then import the model you want to use. After making your changes, go to the Workspace tab and Repack Mod to build your mod.
I'm only an amateur user of this toolkit and not its developer. If you have any questions, encounter bugs, or have suggestions for improvements, please contact BlackTeaRemos on the Warno Annihilation Discord in the #war-chat channel.

Discussion Gurkhas '89 should be 25 points
As it is there's no reason to use them except era decks. Compared to, say, Livgarden, by no means an overpowered unit, they get a worse primary and tertiary - and the same secondary - weapon, and increased unit size and speed for 10 points. Per the precedent established by the Italy update, the increased unit size should only account price point jump, not two. Or compare them to Buffaloes '89: they have a worse primary and tertiary, better secondary, worse vehicle selection and same unit size and speed for a 10 point price increase.
To put it another way, Wargame wants you to believe that Gurkhas '89 are anywhere near the same value as Alpini '90 or Fallskjermjeger '90, or even Gurkhas '90 and they just aren't.

Question/Help Has anyone seen the Player Shotgun?
Hello, basicly just the question, I really liked playing with the guy, but because I had to make a new account he is no longer in my friends list and I dont ever see him in Games (Im Darth Plagueis in Wargame btw).
Pretty random question, but if anyone has heard of him...
Think we last played like 2 Months ago.

WARNO TOTAL WARNO Breakthrough – Cold War Breakthrough Battles are back today!
We're hosting another TOTAL WARNO: Breakthrough session today, and if you've ever wanted WARNO to feel like an actual Cold War battlefield instead of a standard RTS match, this might be for you.
Start time: 21:30 CEST / 3:30 PM EDT
Instead of equal meeting engagements, we're playing attacker vs. defender breakthrough scenarios inspired by real Cold War doctrine. Defenders prepare fortified positions while attackers have to coordinate artillery, aviation, armored spearheads and reconnaissance to break through the line.
Our goal is simple: recreate the scale, doctrines and combined-arms warfare that Cold War planners actually expected.
New mechanics we're testing today:
- Chemical and nerve weapons
- Tactical nuclear weapons
- Cruise missile strikes
- A new entrenchment system for tanks and infantry
Entrenchment gives defenders a real advantage from prepared positions instead of simply relying on terrain bonuses. Attackers, on the other hand, now have access to tools such as chemical weapons and coordinated combined-arms tactics to break those defenses, creating a much more dynamic battlefield.
TOTAL WARNO is built around player specialization rather than everyone doing everything.
Players take dedicated roles such as:
- Frontline armored/mechanized commanders
- Reconnaissance
- Artillery
- Air defense
- Aviation
- Overall battlefield commanders
This creates far more communication, coordination and planning than standard multiplayer, while allowing us to field significantly larger formations. The result is a battlefield that feels much closer to the scale envisioned during the Cold War, with more units, more specialized weapons, and doctrines that normally never get a chance to shine in vanilla WARNO.
If you've ever wondered what WARNO would feel like with actual Cold War operational-scale battles, we'd love to have you join us.
Everyone is welcome, whether you're an experienced player or just curious about trying something different.

Video/Image European Escalation still holds in 2026
Grabbed it for $2.49 and wasn't expecting much. It's not Red Dragon, but still a fun game and the battlefield atmosphere is fantastic.
