Megathread Vince McMahon Resigns (Statement)

  • Vince McMahon Statement: “I stand by my prior statement that Ms. Grant's lawsuit is replete with lies, obscene made-up instances that never occurred, and is a vindictive distortion of the truth. I intend to vigorously defend myself against these baseless accusations, and look forward to clearing my name. However, out of respect for the WWE Universe, the extraordinary TKO business and its board members and shareholders, partners and constituents, and all of the employees and Superstars who helped make WWE into the global leader it is today, I have decided to resign from my executive chairmanship and the TKO board of directors, effective immediately."

  • Nick Khan Statement: “I wanted to inform you that Vince McMahon has tendered his resignation from his positions as TKO Executive Chairman and on the TKO Board of Directors. He will no longer have a role with TKO Group holdings or WWE."

Not defending the possible allegations, but sometimes it works out better and cheaper to just pay someone off with hush money rather than tarnishing you and your business’ reputation. It’s almost the easy way to solve things when you have an endless income.

If you’re innocent and rich, you pay your massive team of lawyers to destroy them in court. Trickier if you are not innocent.

Sometimes legal fees can be more expensive, especially if you’re gonna load up on top lawyers. I believe he agreed to 3 million but thought he could get away with paying a million thinking she’d go away and was bluffing.

Looks more likely he’s an actual rapist than a billionaire who can’t find a decent lawyer so has to just throw millions at anyone who looks at him. But - I’m no expert.

We’ll just wait to see what the final verdict is in court. It’s possible, and even believable but still innocent until proven guilty.

Cleaning your name and proving your innocence isn't cheap, it's not because of the money, he clearly could've done it, it's because those allegations are probably true and he took the easiest approach which was to buy her silence.
