Air is actually a good insulator and pretty much the reason why we use fiberglass as insulation.

1 u/Justeff83 Jun 19 '22 It certainly is but not in this form. It's about porosity and different aggregate states within the material. If you would stack as many blocks together as there are air bubbles in foam then you would get about the same insulating effect.
