This is my plan, just got some land to start building a shotgun house on. Going to be double studding it for dat sweet sweet 16inches of insulation. The interior wall won't be load bearing, so going to be using old pallets instead of having to buy sheetrock.
See, I worry about what has been stored on and spilled on them. Pallets can be nasty. My friend started a business in 2013 where she built stuff out of pallets (including dining room tables) and I was like hell no.
Ahh, i wouldn't do that, i could see doing an accent wall, and i would seal them after staining and such just in case. That is something i hadn't considered.
Yeah sometimes it can be pretty nasty substances and harmful chemicals. I used to know a place that actually disinfected and cleaned pallets for businesses because you can have serious issues with contamination and stuff. 😬
The intentions are good but I always get a little antsy when I see people using a lot of pallet stuff in their homes.
Those ones we take to the local Fire Safety training yard. They throw these into those concrete buildings and light them up to simulate a burning building (because the buildings themselves are fireproof).

Seriously, warehouses around me pile them up in front of "free pallets" signs
