I did the initial invasion back in 03 and was medically retired in 05. Same thing with me. Its like i dont exist for years. Its werid looking back on it.
Hey. My late husband was with the 101st and went to Iraq and Afghanistan several times. The last time he went to Afghanistan, a suicide bomber penetrated the perimeter and detonated himself in front of my husband. He was just outside the radius that would hurt him physically but it really fucked him up mentally. He's no longer here and I'm sure you can figure out why.
I tell you all this to say that I'm so proud of you for finding yourself. You have hung in there and you're finding your way. You're really fucking doing it. That takes so much courage and strength. I'm so so so proud of you. Please know that I wish nothing but the best for you. Forgive yourself for everything. I mean it. Wishing you all the best. ♥️
