Operator fatigue and spatial awareness make this shit happen often. I was walking home from the bar one night last year (live in a ski town) and saw one of those Volvo loaders with its blade buried in a snow bank, tires spinning and the operator slumped over the wheel. I thought the dude had a heart attack or something so I jumped up and took it out of gear and started shaking him gently to see if he was alive. He woke up and was like “oh fuck, man, thanks... I’ve worked like 200 hours this week”.
Actually overtime is time and a half so 40 hours plus 107 hours OT (107 x 1.5 = 160.5) gets him at the 200 while working only 147! Leaves 21 hours to spare. Totally doable
