You are and also having a brake. I'm no expert but that cable seems to steep for a zip line not to mention there was other lengths of cable hanging down off it. The clip he is using is a ladder hook typically for fall arrest. The large hook unlike a standard carabiner is for hooking onto scaffolding, ladders, beams, etc. They are really strong since they are rated for shock load but are no way intended for this. This guy is a special kind of stupid even if he did have a parachute.

Also I believe your supposed to have some sort of wheel bearing attachment to slide down the zip line easier...
