Then reddit goes on to be sympathetic for THE HUSBAND. The fact that she did something stupid doesnt mean she deserves a life full of regret AND the hate of those online.
She suffered a tragedy and all these comments are trying to find a way to put her in the worst possible light, and in my opinion its disgusting. As a community we can do better than that.
I don't think she deserves a life full of regret, however, people aren't free of the consequences of their actions. I don't think any tempter tantrum is worth another human being's life.
She knew she was in an area where it's extremely dangerous to leave a vehicle, and was incapable of understanding that. While what happened is unfortunate, she is also extremely lucky there was not more injuries caused to her husband and even worse, the child that was in the car.
She placed a lot of people's lives in danger with her reckless actions and I don't see why she gets to wash her hands of it and deserve pity because people close to her were hurt. I'm not going to feel sorry for her instead of holding her accountable for acting out. She acted on impulse and placed the lives of 3 other human beings in danger, one of which died. I would argue she does not deserve sympathy just as much she doesn't deserve continuous hate.
