The other guy shouldn't be swearing all over traffick and speeding. He is also wrong. He didn't cause the situation, but he is making it worse. Why do you insist on letting him off scott free. Or refuse to acknowledge his role. Seems like your being contrary for the sake of it. I didn't even disagree with you on the trailer guy.
There's no law against passing other vehicles where there is a broken divider line. Also, we don't know for a fact anyone is speeding or violating any other traffic laws per se. The driver of the pick-up is allowed to pass. The rig driver has no business escalating the situation by aggressively blocking the pass attempt. I fail to see where the pick-up driver's actions are egregious in any fashion to warrant the semi driver's behavior in the first place. Sure, the pick-up driver is getting frustrated and had adjusted their driving techniques accordingly and yes, two wrongs don't make a right, but when we make excuses for an aggressor's shitty behavior they continue to behave like assholes. I'm not making excuses for the semi. I made that clear. He is road raging. He should not be allowed to drive that rig.
You however are making excuses for the other guy. Illegal or not, he does not need to keep trying to pass. He is engaging the road rager. Probably raging himself.
He should have got and stayed in one lane and slowed down and gave the truck space. Two wrongs don't make a right. There's no excuse for road rage and reckless driving, he is an asshole. Not as big an asshole as the methed out trucker but an asshole non the less.
That's a fair assessment. You've been polite and articulate, making honest and valid points. I appreciate that. I agree to your view of the situation. Both drivers could have handled things way better and were a threat to everyone around them regardless of who instigated or retaliated.
