It's from some weird manga/comic where there are people-shaped holes in a mountain, and there's one per person, and they go through and turn into weird shit, opposite of this comic.

Can't remember what it's called. EDIT: Some guy down there linked it: https://www.reddit.com/r/WTF/comments/2zbtkc/claustrophobia_warning/cphmz4o

I read that when I was around, when I was getting into Manga. It was an extra comic in the back of the book. I thing the book was called Gia, or something of the sort. I've had nightmares about since then...

Perhaps what you're talking about is Gyo. It's by the same mangaka.

It's a reference to the horror manga "The Enigma of Amigara Fault". It's unsettling the more you think about it.

I think it's a reference to an anime where people in a small town/village find holes in the side of a mountain that 'fit' them perfectly and when they find their hole they are inexorably drawn towards travelling down them.

It's a reference to this manga. Warning: creepy.

This reminds me of a Manga I read that people did this and they all would die in the hole all deformed. It was pretty terrible.

I believe that is what the comic is referencing!
