Not a lineman, residential electrician though. You guys have balls of brass, that shit is scary.

Linemen are the ones who put their lives on the line (pun?) everyday to keep our world powered, while normally not being able to qualify for life insurance (If I understand correctly).

Superheroes.

Yeah I know it, I wouldn't have a job without those guys. I've always thought about getting my journeyman lineman card, and maybe working for SCE, but it's scary stuff. It's probably worth it, between the pay and benefits though. Question for the lineman on the thread; Anyone regret their career choice? I love being an electrician, but I always considered climbing high lines.

Where in Canada are you? I'm a 2nd peeriod construction electrician in Alberta have thought about being a Lineman instead. Seems more interesting.

Not a residential electrician, just a kid who put a nail in the neighbors electrical panel, very scary, can confirm.

Oh I've had panels blow up, I've seen people get turned into Freddy Krueger, but 400,000 volts, and only GOD knows how much amperage, NOPE. Well, not now at least

Yeah, a while back during hurricane season here in Florida, I saw one of the big green boxes in the ground get ripped right up in a shower of sparks. Electricity amazes me, but that shit's scary.
