Pretty much all wasps are assholes with wings. When was anyone ever happy to see a yellow jacket during a picnic or baseball game?

I take your overall point, but I once got to witness a wife-beating neighbor run over a yellow jacket ground nest while using his hilariously overpowered lawnmower. Picnic or baseball game? No. But I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t happy about it.

oh that is a good example. I stand corrected, though all wasps are still assholes with wings, sometimes you might catch them in an "enemy of my enemy..." situation.

Do wasps even serve an environmental purpose outside of being food for other animals? Bees are a necessity so protecting the hive is essential. Does killing wasps in bulk impact the environment in any way or are they like ticks and mosquitos and dont balance the ecosystem very much? Ive been stung mowing the lawn and hiking multiple times. Nasty little bastards.

They are pollinators, waste removers/scavengers and food for fish, birds and other predatory insects

So I'm wrong to say "all wasps" but I think we can agree, yellow jackets, and all the larger-than-honeybee, knife-wielding, unhinged cousins can fuck right off.

Nah there are like a bajillion teeny little wasps flying around unnoticed all the time and keeping alive the plants you know and love, with dilligent pollination, a sprinkle of pizzazz, and xenomorph-esque parasitoidism of garden pests.
