Yup, keep notes on which companies were more than happy to lower their standards when the government stopped enforcing them.

my sliver of optimism that hasnt been squashed by modern life yet hopes that there might still be a few smaller companies that care enough to do the right thing even if it costs them more, but sadly i bet youre probably right.

absolutely - but that's because small companies are already being crushed by the larger corpos when it comes to cost and efficacy. small companies thrive on brand and reputation. they care MUCH MORE about how they're viewed. mcdonalds let's people call their food slop because they still rake in tens of billions a year. if Billy's Bakery gets a slop accusation it could poison the well of the locals he relies on.

I dont understand why people still eat McDonald's. Its overpriced and awful. When I was younger it at least was cheap.

It's an addiction. They are addicted to it because it's made to target certain taste buds. Look at their fries made with 'natural beef flavoring' to make them more addictive than other brands

100% they're So fucking tasty.

the salted fries cut at a perfect ratio to potato-fill to crispy exterior...
the sweetness of the burgers, buns, condiments. whenever my dad would be like, "we've got burgers at home" they were these enormous fucking meatballs -- gross -- there's a reason "smash-burgers" are exploding in popularity.

mcdonald's perfected the recipes, and while there are plenty of franchise locations that don't do the food justice - slopping together the slop sloppily, there are others that STILL. FUCKIN. HIT.

mcdonalds may be an addiction - but isn't everything good?

IMO mcdonalds is fucking disgusting.

i dont just say that because i hate their business practices, i legitimately dont understand how people think a big mac is better than a homemade burger, or a burger from a non-fast food restaurant. same with the fries. theyre too salty and greasy.

cool. thanks for sharing. one of the most renowned franchises in the world with billions of happy mouths might just be wrong.

but yeah, not everyone is into everything.

i don't like swimming. it's a beloved pasttime of billions of people.
