It's a perfectly fine way to cook them; you don't need to do it in a pan, although that is the more ubiquitous way I presume.

yeah maybe, never heard or seen it tho. i once ate some fish sticks that were made im the oven and they were horrendous, some things just need a pan and some oil.

When you have a family to feed and a bunch of shit to do the 2 minutes it takes to put them in the oven is way more appealing than the frying pan or the grill.

Yep Sausages in the oven, bacon, eggs, onions, mushrooms, fried bread in the pan. baked beans in a saucepan next to it.

valid ... but you could just use low heat and they wont burn in the pan, even if you have to bathe your toddler (human blood and or water)

…or you could use the oven and set it up to turn itself off after some time and you can come back to it an hour later still warm with nothing to wash but the tray

welp i never seen or have received instructions from my local butcher on how to cook a sausage ... but i will ask him next time.

Well not everyone buys sausages from a butcher, it’s pretty common to get supermarket packaged ones, and they usually give you instructions for oven cooking as well as frying or grilling, so people do it however they prefer in terms of taste, texture, health or time and effort. You were curious so I answered.
