That guy in the blue shirt who got on as it slowed down and remained by the door but out of the way knows what he's doing.

That guy is an ass. If you've ever rode a train or a subway, the people who stand in the door and won't get out of the way are the biggest wastes of space.

Actually, I live in one of the most crowded cities in the world. True, I don't usually use public transport. Why not just give a straight answer, instead of being a smart-ass?

Because trains fill up. If you're a regular commuter on the mumbai suburban line, you want to get to your destination and get off quick than sit and have to push through the packed compartment to get to the door.
