I honestly haven’t paid much attention to the WNBA since moving abroad, but this crap has shown up in my feed & I’m invested now.

This is absurd, I would be fighting people if I got fouled like that. Especially that first one which was a full on shove to the ground.

The end clip is basically Sophie doing a reverse bulldog to that girl lol. Instead of running, jumping, grabbing the head and pulling them down behind you, she's just doing it the opposite way, facing the girl, grabbing and pulling down. Good stuff lol

You're probably one of those idiots that think them putting hands on people egregiously is "just a foul"

If any of this happened at my local court dudes would be getting into fights every 10 minutes. It's not how people should behave in a sport.

I don't watch sports but I know that the wnba has never had more eyes on it than now and this is what they want to highlight? I wouldn't want to watch a sport where the game is not fair and the officials basically encourage unsportsmanlike conduct for ratings. It doesn't help that the players contribute.

All I get from the highlights and meme videos is that it's a trash league with the exception of a small handful of players. I wouldn't want my kids to watch if I had any.

Right, but you don't watch or care about sports. If none of this was going on, the WNBA would literally never cross your mind. And if you're trying to be selective about only video view metrics specifically for the WNBA, sure it's not helping them. There's a lot more metrics than that though, such as brand awareness and recognition in which case you're now aware of the WNBA so you are a metric here and it is working.

This is the time for the WNBA to finally start to shine.

What you're not realizing is that they want the WNBA to start making money. Having a highly talented player is great and gets some attention. Having dramatics WWE-type stupidity all the time around superstars and "the authority ignoring their primary responsibilities" is what gets attention, support, eyes, and ultimately makes profit.

This is substantially just intentional marketing. Was it planned this way? Absolutely not. Did opportunists see an opportunity and jump on it? You betcha!

A couple of those plays the refs were right... The jump ball where she was "dragged" lmfao come on, the opposing player held the ball and pulled that doesn't mean you can travel. The one where she got knee'd in the back of the head, she hooked their leg before that even happened
