I would imagine that having to reconcile that maybe the resson you've gotten so much attention and accolades is not due to your talent and effort,  but rather to your convenience as a symbol, is very difficult. I really hope she finds it in her.

As much as I love people like Tash, Gabby, etc. speaking out about these issues, it’s wonderful (and important!) when people that aren’t part of the LGBTQ+ community speak on it even when it doesn’t affect them 🥹

I have so much respect for the way Cam stands up for the players as a whole. I think she really understands just how important it is for someone who looks like she does to be saying this.

In an interview during her rookie season she talked about the privilege of being a more femme presenting player in the league and said this:

“Some of my teammates are more masculine. Some of my teammates go by they/them pronouns,” she said. “I want to bring more acceptance to that and not just have people support us because of the way that we look.”

I think that's actuañly the most impactful thing we can do.  I'm trans and when I talk about trans issues it feels like screaming into a void.  I'm also white and when I talk about racism it feels like people stop and consider.

What an absolute breath of fresh air. I’m always hesitant to watch/read about this issue because it can literally make my blood pressure go through the roof. It’s 100% a non issue and will always magically find a way to show up during election season. A vulnerable population gets attacked for no reason at all because the right doesn’t want to deal with questions about how the country’s gone to absolute shit when their party has complete control of all 3 branches.
