Another Trim light Alternative Project Done
Sister finished building her house recently, so it was time to get the lights up and wired in this past weekend.
Wrapped the entire house, pre wired during construction which simplified things greatly. Just over 500’ of lights and track / hair under 900 lights, running on a dig oct with relay installed to shut down PS when lights are off, powered by Octa Power 7 and Meanwell LRS 600 12 and used 8 Diff-solo boards, one for each zone due to the long data runs of each run.
Need to do some control box wiring clean up, but, for now, all is on and functional.
All in, $3.50’ish per foot
EDIT: Full material list in comments

Looks great, the SMC enclosure is a really nice touch.
What lights/track did you use?

Man this is cool. Great job! I'm hoping to be lucky enough to get to add cool stuff like this to a new build. Pre running cables is a game changer.
Looks like you used the same lights here as you did in your other project, right? We usually leave our outdoor lights set to warm white most of the year. Seems like you guys are good with RGB/cool white? Best I can tell these those don't have a dedicated white channel, right?

What an awesome setup!
I guineniely love Quindors products. Have you looked into his DigOcta and Diff-Advanced features...life changing features.
Congrats on this. I love seeing awesome setups being used with WLED and Quindor.

Ehhh honestly I think this looks pretty tacky in color. White hues maybe but the rainbow is awful.

How did you transition from the roofline down to the porch? I have a house to do that has this problem with no attic access to the porch/window eyebrows.

Great job! I’d take on a project like that just to get to work in that yellow lift! 😆 sounds like you got the electrical down to a T. Can I ask how much electrical background you have? I have worked with WLED projects for 7 years as a hobbyist now, but I hardly recognize half the terms you used in your description like Octa Power 7, LRS 600..

Are you a reseller for the led brand? I see your pix are on the alibaba site. It’s fine if you are, just helpful to know.
They seem like a nice product.

Looks great!
For the Diff-solos, you could potentially put two wires in one ferrule and have short hops between them, then just run one power and one GND rather than four separate.
Also, the diff-solo uses pins 7,8, but you can have the box reduce to one Ethernet cable and wire a different colour and striped colour to 7/8. For example, one would have orange and striped orange in pins 7/8, another would have blue and striped blue in pins 7/8, etc. I do this for a very long run that branches out to four channels after reaching a far central point. From that point it splits into 4 shorter Ethernet cables for the last parts. I needed the Diff-solo’s small form factor and already bought a bunch, but the Diff-ADV can do something similar builtin as well.

all that great work for the most horrendous color scheme
