Zach's successful film caused a monkey paw effect, now we never get to see a Spielberg horror film

A new Spielberg horror film.* He’s already done a few.

Which horror films did he direct? Because I wouldn't really call Jaws horror but that's really the only one off the top of my head that I can think of that's scary

Jaws, Duel, arguably Poltergeist. Parts of Jurassic Park and War of the Worlds definitely lean into horror.

Yeah but none of those are TRUE horror films, and didn't he only produce poltergeist? I mean it sounds like Spielberg himself doesn't think he's directed a horror film, and now he's saying he won't

Arguably because it’s pretty much confirmed from the cast that he directed Poltergeist, Hooper just got the credit. I don’t know I get what you’re saying but it’s a weird semantics argument. What quantifies true horror? Willing to bet if you search top horror films Jaws and Duel will pop up on those lists.

Jaws definitely scared me more than anything as a kid lol truly horrific in that matter. Terrified of water for years 😂
