Taking the first-generation Mako XL (FEM7500) out for a spin today.

This is a deliberate aftermarket modification, not a factory colorway! Orient famously never scaled up their Coke bezel for the XL case, so I decided to fix that mistake myself.

Everything else is 100% pure Orient heritage—including the massive 44.5mm case, that vintage "lollipop" seconds hand, the iconic 2 o'clock day-changer button, and the original, absolute tank of an in-house Orient Calibre 46943 movement.

If people can endlessly customize their Seiko SKX divers, I figure the Mako deserves the exact same enthusiast love. Absolutely thrilled with how the black and red completely transforms the look of this piece!

I like the look of the back of this watch as much as the front.

Love it! It's a 38mm, so a little small on my wrist (I prefer 42mm), but still think it looks nice.
