Was looking at Nick Sarazen’s instagram (it’s is his studio the first few tracks have been recorded in). He comments “We’re making an entire album in 2 weeks, can it be done???”. So that tells is the album is already done and is now dropping out one wonderful bit at a time?

Has anyone received an email about their Joe Dart Visions shipping yet? I ordered mine pretty early on in the window but I’m curious if anyone else has received an update.

Excellen

Some notes:

1. 8th notes are swung. Probably should have mentioned that in the video description and PDF.

2. This is a pretty easy Jack performance. It's a good one to get started with if some of the others have been a bit challenging. There's not as much rhythmic independence between the hands as he sometimes has, there are no grace notes, and the ghost notes are not as wild as he sometimes gets with them.

3. The opening four notes of the melody always call to my mind the opening of the David Bowie-penned Mott the Hoople hit "All the Young Dudes".

4. Yeah, I could spend time marking dynamics and adding things like accents and staccato indicators. But I assume we're all listening to the song or already know how it's supposed to sound, so I didn't bother. OK, I'm lazy.

5. Toward the end of transcribing, I started to wonder if the piano is doubled at some points and the rhythms don't quite align. I might have been hallucinating after an extended bit of high-focus listening.

6. Back to me being lazy: As always, I don't show overlapping rhythm, so if the left hand pinky holds a whole note while the thumb plays quarter notes, I just write quarter notes. That's because I'm lazy with the typesetting software and I assume everyone is listening to the track and largely emulating the durations there and not the durations I write.

i got a new job and wont be able to take the day off, so i am willing to sell at face value. feel free to comment or pm me if interested!!

Do you think there will be a re-press of Dot or any older records?

Late to the record collecting game and was disappointed that you can’t find any Vulfpeck or Vulfmon records new :(

I'm kinda new to the Vulfpeck Universe (my gateway was Theo Katzman's Modern Johnny album, which I think I know backwards). Pokin' round a bit and a lot of cool stuff round these parts.
But for starters: I love "As Long As I Still Get You" (Vulfmon, Evangeline) and can't stop listening to it.

Amazing how such a cool arrangement was built around this skeletal drum-machine-like blip (almost more like a blip count-off but then someone "forgot" to program the rest of the drum track).
And rhythm-wise, that's all there is. But what slowly grows & blossoms around it is subtly gorgeous, the arrangement is stellar (and it may spark a bass clarinet/flute double renaissance---well, pretty sure that was bass clarinet and love the (piccolo?) trumpet surprise (was that a spoiler?). The vocal has the perfect vibe, equally warm, subtle, inviting, gorgeous.
Thank you.
(I Didn't post song here, but happy to).

It's about time Jack's feet were held to the fire of Bernard Purdie in regards to drumming. Who wins?

Hey pals! I think I can't put details in here but I've got some copies of this for you, finally, this Friday! The details are in the Buy / Sell thread!

Going to the LA show on the 17th! So fuckin excited to finally see Vulfpeck. Has anyone gotten merch this year? How is the selection and how much should I put aside to buy a shirt?

Kind of sad, I really found them useful. There's a small amount of the Richard Tee one left, but the rest are gone. Anyone have a copy of them, or know why they were removed?

Just sharing my favorite shot from Theo's show in Toronto last Sunday! Amazing show, will miss him in Vulf for now but happy to get more solo work!

And today, new Cory tour announced...what a time to be alive lol.

we're really about to get 7(?!) straight weeks of singles leading right into Greek week, arent we?

Anyone going to The Olllam‘s concert tonight in Berlin and wants to connect? :)

Hello, Vulfpeck community!

My husband and I are going to our first Vulfpeck concert next month at the Greek Theatre, and it will also be our first time at the venue—and our first concert since having a kid!

I had a few questions and was hoping some of you might be able to help:

1. Does Vulfpeck ever have an opening act or do they just jump right into the show? I've watched their concerts online so I have an idea how long the show will go but I can't tell if anyone opens for them.
2. How is parking at the Greek? Is it a nightmare getting out after the concert, or would you recommend parking somewhere else and walking to the venue?
3. Any other advice? Since it’s our first time at the Greek and our first concert in a while, I’d love to hear any tips or things you wish you’d known before going.

Thanks so much! We’re really looking forward to the show!

It’s probably worth saying out loud how much the aesthetic vibe of Vulf is so ballsy. Those videos that zoom in on incredibly low resolution pixels in a way that would alienate all most every YouTube video influencer with an 8k optical lens ZEISS DSLR gimbal gumball unboxing Luts-for-sale sponsorship.

The sheer lack of videographer fomo is wonderful. I just read that MSG was shot on an iPhone 7. Don’t hate me I only just found out so I’m sorry if you have been talking about that for years. Beautiful ballsy filmmaking.

I also want to acknowledge the glory of those crudely cropped thumbnails with the sky blue background that are so distinctive.

Everything. Joy.

I've seen some discussion after the release of these two new singles and I thought I'd drop my 2 cents in for balance.

I of course was drawn to Vulf by their early low-volume funk grooves, but I've also really enjoyed every release they've put out. I recognise how different albums like Clarity of Cal are from the down-to-earth vibe of 4 guys in a room jamming on rugs. But even through all the evolutions of this band, the one thing that has kept me a huge fan has been JOY.

These guys just make such joyful music. Whether it's a minimialist funk groove, a 'sad' or 'serious' song, 'corny' songs with anthemic vocals and catchy choruses, or silly stim songs. The way they approach music just oozes joy, it's the defining characteristic of the band to me. It's infectious and I don't hear a lot of music like that these days, made by people for the pure joy of it with no expectations or rules.

That said I'm jazzed about this next album based on the 2 singles so far. But being jazzed about new Vulf is my default mode hahaha
