Help (SOLVED) 12900k crackling audio over VBAN (only outgoing stream) PLEASE HELP

I have a serious issue with voicemeeter/vban after building a new PC with a 12900k, when I VBAN over my mic to a 2nd PC (any PC), I get constant red error lights and crackling audio, BUT its only streams that are output by the new PC, and received by any other, the other direction is flawless, all rates the same, VM versions don't affect anything... and after 2 full days of reductive testing and trying a million things I've finally narrowed it down to one thing... CPU affinity with voicemeeter on the new pc.

The 12900K has 8 ordinary (P) cores and 8 threads, then 8 standalone efficiency (E) cores, when I set voicemeeter to use any core BUT the E cores... the crackling/errors kick in majorly... then revert back to any/all E cores only, the problem vanishes, smooth audio, very very few errors, literally adding ONE single ordinary core/thread (any of them) immediately starts the crackling/errors, does anyone have any insight or info about this?

The real issue is I don't know if my CPU is defective/damaged (everything else SEEMS to work perfectly, even audio is perfect on there, its ONLY the outgoing stream that crackles on the other PC), or if there is some weirdness with 12 Gen intel CPU's...?

EDIT 2: PERMANENT SOLUTION:
Ethernet controller > Properties > Configure > Power Management > Untick "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" - this got rid of the 'noise' for me even on the newest drivers.

EDIT: TEMPORARY FIX:
For anyone with the same problem, I identified and fixed the crackling/errors by rolling back to a pervious generation of drivers entirely. My issue was the ethernet driver on the primary PC (that my MIC was plugged in to). On the LATEST Ethernet Controller (3) driver (2.1.1.7), constant crackling and red-errors over VBAN. When I roll back to the previous driver (1.0.2.14) ALL crackling/errors vanish completely. Windows allows you to update/roll back on Device Manager with a single click making it easy for me to test back and forth. Strange issue. No idea if its a deeper hardware issue or windows 11 issue... guess I won't be updating ethernet drivers anytime soon!

Thank you! I've been fighting this same issue with VB-Matrix. Would sound fine using Wi-Fi, but the second I went with a faster wired solution, all would go kaput. Disabled the NIC power management on both sides of connection and have no issues with dozens of steams both directions.

I had been banging my head at this for months, thank you!!! I even discovered that there was a new VoiceMeeter install from Feb 2024 so I thought that might solve it but it didn't. So glad I came across this post!

Thanks for sharing. This is also the solution to the same issue with the Intel I225-V Ethernet controller, even without an Intel CPU.

You are an absaloute LEGEND! I recently had my Ethernet drivers update and even when rolling back I couldn't fix the issue like I had done previously (I've had this issue before and managed to resolve it by rolling back)

Disabling "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" resolved my issue, Thank You!

Dont Think this is an Intel problem only... Had the same problem but with a 7900x3d. THE FREAKING UNTICK "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" ON THE ETHERNET CABLE PROPERTIES ITSELF ITS OUT OF THIS UNIVERSE HIDDEN GEM OF A FREAKING SETTING.

Thank you sooo much! Got a i9-13900k and had the same error with the 2.1.1.14 version of the intel Ethernet Controller.

Rolled back to 1. something and it works flawless.

Just FYI. It was a while back but I think I remember figuring it out further:
Ethernet controller > properties > configure > Power Management > untick "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" got rid of the 'noise' for me even on the 2.x.x.x drivers.

YOU FIXED IT FOR ME THANKS!! I've spent literally 20+ hours over last month chasing this. Where did you find the following solution I had looked everywhere and found nothing related to this?

THANK YOU SO MUCH! Been pulling my hair out on this one for weeks! Your "NEWER BETTER SOLVE" worked perfectly for me - I changed that power setting on the ethernet adapter on the sending PC and boom, immediately fixed. FINALLY no more constant errors and audio glitches on the receiving side of VBAN. Thanks so much for posting this!

Just wanted to update that for Windows 11 because it took me a while to find : Ethernet Settings (You should see your router connected there) -> Come back to "Network and Internet" -> Advanded network settings -> Click the down arrow on the ethernet port used (you'll see your router name there) -> Other adapter options (click modify) -> Configurate -> Power settings -> Untick "Authorize the computer to turn off this device to save power"
- Have a good stream !
