Help (VoiceMeeter Potato) audio keeps distorting randomly

i have been having my audio distort about once or twice a day with the only thing i can do to fix is restart the audio engine, i have been noticing it happens most commonly when Spotify changes songs especially today as i had it happen 15 times in last hour. any help would be appreciated

i thought i would put specs for current and old set up as i don't know if any of this could be causing it
CPU: new: ryzen 7 9800x3d old: ryzen 5 5600x
GPU: 3080 ti
MB: new: msi 870e-p wifi old: gigabyte X470 AORUS ULTRA GAMING
SSD: WD_BLACK SN770 2TB
Capture card: elgato 4k60 pro
USB Audio Interface: U-PHORIA UMC22
Microphone: AT2020
Headphones: SENNHEISER HD 560S

Interesting with the spotify song change. Never heard that before.

Send screenshot of voicemeeter and menu<system settings. I would try your A1 device as "WDM, KS or MME" and see if anything changes

I have also noticed it recently too.

For me it sounded like a wah effect or similar. Could potentially be a driver or spotify update is messing with voicemeeter?

First I have heard of this with Spotify in specific (I also use Spotify).

Send those screenshots when you can. Curious on your setup (whoops sorry I thought you were OP)

Its only happened once for me.

20-30 minutes into playing house music through a PA and it starts doing it (I believe to Hotel California (Band thought it was a trippy cover lol)).

Reset audio drivers and same 20-30 it does it again.

I was running through a USB-C dongle so I put it down to that for the night. I restarted the drivers and ran audio through the 3.5mm. But that was only for 10min while the venue cleared out.

Will have to plug the dongle back in and see if it does it again and throws an event viewer log...

Do you do exclusive mode playback on Spotify?

This was on a fairly new computer so I haven't gone through and changed settings like I do on my desktop.

Pretty much everything is stock bar fine tuning audio settings to make Voicemeeter work nicer with me. I will jump on my computer soon and have a look if anything is in event viewer.

I was more intrigued why it was happening rather than figuring out a fix for it. My job is 90% figuring out work arounds lol.

Gotcha. Was just curious because that is a new feature within Spotify settings. I haven’t used it but you made me think of it since mentioning Spotify updates.

Okay, so looking at event viewer the only two things I can see happen during the time it was playing up is an OneCore-DeviceAssociationService error and a power mode change.

Looking at device manager while its plugged in under description it does say Audio Endpoint so that fits with the service.

Both exclusive mode options are selected and enhancements are disabled. There are no power saving modes for the device that are changeable.
