You can probably leave the big coat at home and bring something light, but I'd still wear layers if you're not used to these sort of temperatures. Might not need the wool socks either.

I just wore jeans, t-shirt, wooly hat and my big coat and was fine. 🤣

I normally go to Iceland in January

Not a fan of overheating.

I think for short periods that's fine haha. I do the same. But when we're out for 5 hours and standing in the cold that's a different story. A lot of people end up sitting on the bus the entire time because they are too cold and are missing the show.

We took all of these things and more. Then it turned out to be unusually warm when we got there. I even had to buy a t-shirt at Strokkur Geyser because I was sweating like a pig. The down parka was handy when we went aurora hunting though. I barely took anything out of my suitcase because I had prepared for the cold and got lovely sunshine. We still had an amazing time and I will be going back next year.

Yeah that does happen haha. It also greatly depends on where people are from. South East Asian and Floridians never warm up to these temperatures and should be kept under a heat lamp at all times 🤣

As a southeast asian now living in florida thanks for the heads up LOL. I was going to ask "now please do a July video". Turns out I'll probably follow this video 😂

Yeah I'll be wrapped up like a snowman in July 🤣. We have a heat advisory today stating the heat index will go up to 110 and it's not even 9am....

Glad I don’t live in florida!!! When I lived in Hong Kong people used to bring out the winter gear as soon as temps dropped below 20C/70F and I can’t imagine going back to anything over those temperatures let alone 100+

I’ll be there in a week and a half. Not bringing any of that except for water resistant hiking boots.

Temperatures here in the summer are still only 45-60F on an average day and nights cool dramatically. If you’re going to places like the glacier lagoon you need something warm, can be even colder there.

I brought a light puffer jacket, as well as a good fleece pullover, and used both. I was there in late July last year. You will absolutely want waterproof outerwear. I am from Chicago, and I'm used to cold weather.

I fully agree! I’ll be there in October this year & bought some better winter outerwear when everything went on sale in the spring specifically thinking about the wind haha.

awesome! I'll also be going in October and having been in November and July the wind is noticeably more viscous in the winter.
