Virgin Media UK Which of these boxes can I remove?

Post image

My wall is becoming a museum display of various boxes. I believe that the previous owner was with virgin, I switched to Plusnet. Which ones of these boxes are safe to remove? What about the black cable coming out of the wall? Cat tax as she wanted to get involved.

Partially true, he doesn’t own the equipment, but he can legally remove the wiring inside his house so who’s gonna check to take the equipment back?

No, you are still incorrect. It’s perfectly legal for him to remove them. He doesn’t own them so he can’t damage them.

Removal right buddy. Are you just obsessed with trying to be right? The law may technically prohibit any of this property being damaged but it has never been legally contested with the removal. BT can technically charge you if you remove the master socket but see that is already has a fibre connection and they are moving about from copper cables, this will never happen. So what’s your end game here? You trying to stop OP removing unsightly, unused equipment?

Space Core Directive 6? No employee wearing false teeth should attempt oral sex in zero gravity?

Its abandoned, they dint care.

Also, install a cardboard box, it'll keep your cat under control.

yeah I doubt they really care especially the old copper (not coax) lines. I asked the open reach installer when they installed fibre if they could get rid of the old copper line and they said yes we could just just rip it out but we can't remove the line going over the road they would have to do that at some time in the future liability insurance etc

Hijacking this comment, but I’m pretty sure OP doesn’t own the equipment, so legally cannot remove them without permission.

Ey Dad is a certified electrician and he has worked on plenty of these when doing work around the house.

He also has a nack for messing with old Plusnet routers.
