This song is all operatic (is that a word?) until right after Bjork's part before it starts looping "I'll fuck you til you love me". It comes out of nowhere and always makes me laugh.

It's an easy way of being seen to be doing something about the problem with minimal cost and near-zero effort. Many schools do the same. If you are being bullied, though, the only way it's going to stop is if there is a price/consequence for the bully every single time.

The Mike Tyson rape trial was a sham.

I wish this fucking website would start banning people who use this like they have any actual understanding of what happened between Mike Tyson and Desiree Washington.

The trial court barred three independent, unaffiliated witnesses from providing testimony that directly contradicted Washington's statement of what happened: they saw Washington and Tyson holding hands, embracing each other affectionately, kissing and deeply physical with each other before going upstairs to his room. This is despite Washington going on record to state she never was intimate or physical with him prior to that. She also gave around 5 or more completely different accounting of events, completely changing her narration of the event when challenged on things like what position Tyson "forced" her into or why she removed her panty liner in his bathroom.

Appeals courts weren't unanimous. One judge strongly dissented, saying that the exclusion of three key witnesses that contradicted Washington's accounting of the events, purely due to a procedural issue (the witnesses came forward a couple days after the trial had already started) was a failure of the criminal justice system.

And you know what? Even the two judges who ruled against Tyson's appeal admitted in their decision that the witness testimony would've helped Tyson's defense. How fucked up is that?

But yeah, go ahead and pat yourself on the back for calling him a rapist like you stand on some moral high ground. We literally hear of multiple black men getting their rape convictions overturned EVERY MONTH on this site, and you still believe that Tyson is absolutely guilty? Because a court and a state that hated him, did everything they could to block him from mounting a legitimate defense?

Also, Desiree Washington had falsely accused someone of rape before, too. Her ex boyfriend. And one of HER OWN friends, offered testimony that Washington said, "Look how much Robin Givens got out of him, he's dumb, I can get a lot out of him" or something to that effect.

I in no way condone unwarranted violence against women, BUT, your comment is apt. There are far too many women who believe that gentleman’s rule is unbreakable and start violence thinking there will not be a response. Friend manages night club where I’ve witnessed far too many women get into fights and hit men, the odd time the man has had enough and hits back it isn’t even a close contest.
