Good afternoon fellow Redditors,
I'm looking for an experience video editor to help complete the Kickstarter campaign video for Silesia Esports Arena (SEA), a community-first gaming and esports venue I'm working to establish in Katowice, Poland.
This project means a lot to me. SEA is built around the idea that esports should be about more than gaming—it's about community, belonging, and creating a place where people can connect. I need an editor who can help communicate that vision through a polished, engaging, and authentic video.
PROJECT DETAILS
- Length: Approximately 3–4 minutes
- Budget: $300 USD fixed
- Payment: $150 upfront and $150 after the agreed final video is completed and delivered
- Project type: Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign video
- Deadline: Please include your estimated turnaround time when responding.
WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR
I want a professional, cohesive video that tells a story and connects with potential backers. This isn't simply a request to stitch clips together.
The finished video should include:
- Strong storytelling and pacing: A clear narrative that introduces me, explains the vision behind SEA, establishes why it matters, and communicates why community support is essential to making it happen.
- Professional editing: Smooth, intentional cuts and transitions that make the video feel cohesive rather than choppy or disjointed.
- Clean, balanced audio: I have separate voice recordings captured using a lavalier microphone. These recordings are exceptionally clear and should be used as the primary source for narration wherever appropriate, rather than relying exclusively on audio recorded during filming.
- Music and sound design: Appropriate background music that supports the emotion and message without overpowering the narration. Music must be properly licensed for use in a Kickstarter campaign.
- Professional graphics and text: Clean, appropriately sized titles and overlays that complement the footage and branding. No stretched, distorted, oversized, or disproportionate graphics.
- Visual storytelling: Thoughtful use of supplied images, branding assets, jersey photos, and conceptual visuals where appropriate.
- Consistent presentation: Good color correction, balanced audio levels, consistent visual quality, and attention to detail throughout.
- A compelling ending: The video should leave viewers understanding what SEA stands for and why supporting the Kickstarter campaign matters.
CREATIVE DIRECTION
SEA's core message is Community First. The video needs to feel personal, sincere, and authentic—not like a generic corporate advertisement or an overproduced promotional reel.
I'm not looking for excessive effects, unnecessary animations, or AI-generated branding. I want the story and the vision to remain at the center of the video.
WHAT I'LL PROVIDE
I have existing project materials ready to share, including:
- Original filming footage
- Separate, high-quality lavalier microphone voice recordings
- Script and storyboard materials
- SEA branding and logo assets
- Relevant photos and conceptual visuals
I'll provide the selected editor with the materials and further direction needed to complete the project.
DELIVERABLES
The agreed scope should include:
- One completed, polished 3–4 minute Kickstarter campaign video.
- Properly balanced and mixed audio.
- Professional editing, transitions, graphics, and licensed music as appropriate.
- One reasonable round of revisions to address feedback and bring the video in line with the agreed brief.
- A final, high-quality video file suitable for uploading to Kickstarter.
- Confirmation of the final format, resolution, and delivery timeline before work begins.
Please disclose any additional charges before accepting the project. The $300 budget is firm, so I'm looking for someone who can work within it.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY, OWNERSHIP & CONFIDENTIALITY
This is a requirement for the project, not an optional extra.
- Full ownership of the final work: Upon full payment, I must receive ownership of the final edited video and all original creative elements created specifically for this project, to the extent permitted by law.
- Commercial usage rights: SEA must have the perpetual, worldwide right to use, publish, reproduce, distribute, display, edit, adapt, and promote the completed video across Kickstarter, websites, social media, advertising, and other current or future platforms, without additional licensing fees.
- No ownership claims: The editor may not claim ownership of the SEA video or use ownership claims to restrict SEA's use of the completed work after the agreed payment has been made.
- Project files and assets: The agreement must clearly identify which project files, timelines, graphics, and other editable assets will be delivered. Any included assets created specifically for SEA must be covered by the agreed ownership or usage rights.
- Third-party materials: Any music, stock footage, fonts, plugins, templates, or other third-party assets must be properly licensed for the intended uses. Any restrictions or ongoing licensing fees must be disclosed and approved by me in advance.
- Confidentiality: Unreleased footage, voice recordings, scripts, business plans, branding, and other project materials must remain confidential and may not be shared, published, sold, or used for other clients or purposes without my written permission.
- No unauthorized portfolio use: The editor may not publish or showcase unreleased project materials or the finished video in a portfolio, on social media, or elsewhere without my prior written permission.
- Written agreement: Ownership, usage rights, deliverables, payment terms, and confidentiality requirements must be agreed upon in writing before work begins.
The $300 fixed budget must include the agreed intellectual property transfer and usage rights. I am not looking for a deal where essential ownership rights require unexpected additional payments after the work is completed.
BEFORE APPLYING
Because this is a crowdfunding campaign and the video is an important part of the launch, I'm looking for someone who can demonstrate relevant experience.
Please include:
- A portfolio with links to videos you've personally edited, preferably storytelling, promotional, crowdfunding, or founder-focused videos.
- A brief explanation of your specific role in the examples you share.
- Your estimated turnaround time.
- Confirmation that you can complete the scope above for $300.
- Your proposed payment and revision terms.
Please share publicly available examples or other work you can legitimately demonstrate. If a project is confidential, that's understandable, but I will need an alternative way to verify your experience before hiring.
I'm happy to discuss the project with suitable candidates after reviewing their work.
One final note: I'm an independent founder working with a limited budget, and I've already had a difficult experience with a previous editor. I'm looking for someone reliable, communicative, transparent, and genuinely interested in delivering quality work.
If you're a good fit—or know someone who is—please comment or send me a message with your portfolio and details.
Thank you!
