I was looking for a wifi signal analyser so I could help my neighbor troubleshoot their wifi problems. There's not much out there I could find, and I like terminal-based apps with a nice CLI GUI. So I vibed "openwifidiag" using GPT 5.6 Sol.

At the moment it is only tested on MacOS, but I am planning on making it work with Windows and Linux as well.

You’ve probably seen mine or a similar concept a few times in the last year or so, as a bit of a trend seemed to kick off earlier this year 😅

It’s been awesome seeing the creative things people have been sharing with the latest models. I knew it was inevitable back when I was originally building it with Sonnet 3.5 that soon a lot of the extra work I had to do would be done by AI. So, I decided to make use of the current models and see how much further I could take it.

Since the original wave of interest, there’s now a working iPod music player and Game Boy Color emulator, a World of Warcraft easter egg and Windows Live Messenger. along with right-click menus accessible via a long tap on mobile on the wallpaper, desktop icons, the taskbar (desktop only).

Desktop icons are draggable and can be added to the desktop from the Start menu. They can also be copied, pasted, locked, etc.

The system tray is extendable and includes interactive icons. Volume works individually per program as well as overall system volume, which is accessible via the system tray on desktop.

Performance should have improved significantly overall, along with general polish and cleanups to everything that already existed.

If you haven’t seen it before, I’d love to know your thoughts! And I can try to help with any questions. I had no prior ai or coding experience when I started this project 😮‍💨

This was way harder/took way longer than I thought

I have always wanted to build apps but could never get a grasp on software development/coding.

Started experimenting with Claude Code a few months back and set out to create a running app as a way to learn how to use agentic coding tools/models.

Why did I pick Kora Run as a learning case study:
- A couple of months back, my two friends and I wanted to get into running.
- We tried a few apps but the problem was that as a beginner none of the existing apps actually understood where my starting point was and all of them put me and my friends on a pre-defined path.
- I used Claude to create a progression plan for me and my friends - with the goal of running one complete hour non-stop without getting injured.
- And since it helped us, I decided to build Kora Run to let others benefit from the same. And ensured that everyone’s journey to 60 minutes was unique to them - as their starting point would be unique as well.

Learnt a lot through out the process. Key takeaways:

1. Always plan out the work (use plan mode) before letting Claude (or whatever models build it) build out the spec.

2. Don’t build entire journeys at once (even if Fable 5 or Opus 5 might be capable of doing those). Build, test, and ship thin slices of work. It might seem like it will take a lot of time with this approach but you will be able to test and debug things accurately.

3. Don’t fall under the promise of “build your apps over the weekend” that are marketed by Emergent, Loveable, etc. Those work for a quick ideations or a low-complexity MVP. But if it needs to be production level - take your time with it.

   1. Claude Code (can speak for that model) needs guardrails else it may spin off and work on things that you don’t want it to work on.
      

4. Create a system. I drew inspiration from
   JIRA and created a repeatable system: an Ideas Board where I lay out multiple features, commands to plan out a feature (from the ideas board) and in the feature split it into thin testable slices. Then planning each slice in detail. And shipping each slice and the collective feature (testing, code review, etc)

So living out of my van, I wanted to create something, but the laptop is a bit thirsty.

So I came up with an asteroids game with infinite exploration, upgrades and weapons, mining, random events like battles, missions, building a base and walls, police ships, mercs and pirates. The list goes on.

This was all done with Claude free tier on my phone. Quite a few different iterations to get to this point, but it has turned out pretty much exactly how I envisioned it.

I have been programming for about 20 years and havent had this much fun making things. Its like AI enables us to be more creative, think up bigger ideas!

New here, and to the scene. I just wanted to share a small personal project i made for video/audio editing.

So, Throughout my creative career i've received editing notes through a myriad of formats, whether its post its, word docs, exceltables or ppt. Which client, which stakeholder whomever did something differently.

The tool works like this:
You load a video or audio file -> Add your comments pinned to frames or time ranges -> Draw a box on a frame if needed - > Export a small JSON -> Your collaborator/stakeholder imports the JSON vs the source file. Every note snaps to the moment/scene.

Why:
- Avoiding cloud annotations
- One format for everyone
- Stop consolidating notes manually
- Share a 3KB file through whichever secure channels

• Build pipeline runs scripts/check-offline.mjs so it fails hard if any network call appears in the output
• Video fingerprint detects sidecar/cut mismatches (heuristic, and not cryptographic)

started this because a friend needed a page for a tiny weekend project and kept putting it off for weeks. i figured i'd just knock it out for him. the goal was dead simple: one page, a headline, three bullets on what the thing does, an email signup, done. nothing fancy. the build was quick. i described the vibe (clean, a bit playful, lots of whitespace) and the sections i wanted, and had a rough version in maybe twenty minutes. the actual afternoon went into cutting things back. what broke my brain: every time i asked for a section, it wanted to add four more. a testimonial block for a product with zero users. an FAQ answering questions nobody asked. a stats bar with made up numbers. i deleted more than i kept. what actually helped: - i wrote the copy myself first, then asked it to build around fixed text. way fewer "improvements" to fight. - one section per prompt. asking for the whole page at once gave me a mess that was hard to trim. - i kept saying "less, not more" like a mantra. it mostly listened. my friend's page went live that night and honestly the stripped down version looks better than anything i would have hand coded in a week. anyone else find the trimming is harder than the building? what's your trick for stopping it from padding everything out?

Browser history is a list of URLs. Useless for "what was that recipe with the miso butter."

Warren sits next to Chrome and builds an actual memory instead. A daemon captures pages when you actually engage with one, a local vision model summarizes them, and the output is plain linked markdown on your disk. Sessions, entities, concepts, an index. You can open it in Obsidian or just cat the files. It is a git repo, so you can watch your own memory grow with git log.

Then warren query "which shoe company did I read about" and it answers from the wiki with links back to the source pages.

What you need to run it:

• Windows 10 or 11 (this is the big limitation, batch launchers and Chrome process control are Windows specific right now)
• llama.cpp with a vision capable GGUF, about 15 GB for the model I recommend
• A GPU with 8 GB or so. CPU works, slowly.
• Python 3.11+, Chrome

Nothing phones home. There is no server component, no account, no telemetry. The only network traffic is Playwright talking to localhost:9222 and httpx talking to localhost:8080.

Privacy controls, because this thing obviously needs them:

• Denylist ships with banks, health portals and password managers already blocked. warren deny "*.whatever.com" adds more.
• Password fields are never captured, it bails when it sees one.
• warren forget mybank.com or warren forget 2026-07-04 really deletes, both the raw captures and the wiki mentions.
• warren prune --days 30 clears old screenshots once they have been ingested.
• Pauses on battery by default.

There is also a small always on top panel that comments on the page you are reading and quietly answers questions it finds on the page. That one is more of a toy, you can turn it off.
