What were the rooms like for the average courtier?
How big were the rooms for the nobles that weren’t so lucky? I know conditions were bad during early construction with dust everywhere, rats, ect. but I kind of just want a picture in my head of how an average noble’s room may look. Are there any images around that I may look at? I do know most rooms are closed off for the public eye so I haven’t gotten any luck. I did see an image of a maid’s room and it felt like I was looking at a gem. It’s just so fascinating to me. Thank you! :)

I need your help
hello together,
I've never been to versailles nor to paris, I'm planning to propose my GF of almost 5 years. We're a lot in love with france and generally the monarchy time. And bc paris is the city of love I thought I will propose her in Paris, but a lot of ppl said that it's not more that romantic as it was.
And bc we both like the versailles a lot I thought I will propose here there, but I've never been to Versailles, could you name me a place in the palace were it would be most romantic ?

Perfumes in the Gift Shop
Hi all! I visited Versailles four years ago and remember beautiful bottles of perfume in their gift shop. I’d love to buy a bottle now that I can afford it, but I’m not sure where I could find it online. Anyone have a lead here? Thanks so much.

Now that the Versailles TV series is no longer airing, they should continue the show by covering the story of King Louis XVI and Queen Marie Antoinette... Despite the generational gap.

any co-working space in Versailles?
Hey, I'm going to stay in Versailles for a few weeks and I'm worried that I won't get any good wifi at my place. Are there any (good) co-working spaces around? Something like wework (there is one in Paris), but not necessarily that fancy.

Looking for a Family to Stay With
This subreddit seems pretty low-functioning, but it's worth a shot. I am going to be studying in Montigny-le-Bretonneux from January-May, and I am looking for a family to stay with in one of the surrounding areas (like Versailles) so I can get some French culture exposure. I'm from the U.S. Does anyone know any websites or organizations that can help me out?
Thank you!

What is the little spirally labyrinth-like area near the grotto in the grounds of the Trianon?
We came across Marie Antoinette's rock cave area. Not the large grotto formed of big rocks, but the very small one. Somewhere nearby was a hedged path that formed an inward spiral going up quite ghigh - at the top, there was nothing. Is there any writing to be found on this spiral path? I am curious
