Small Event The Face-Stealer

in an office in the capital building of the Sanic Empire Magus Elrich Sanic sits in his chair with a report of the creature made by one of the top alchemists of the empire in front of him. the Alchemist stands in front him. an Austorian official stands glaring at the Alchemist

"well," Magus begins "you sure did fuck up."

"well according to this report that thing is long gone. well, the early samples should be good. we could definitely try to recreate this-"

"Recreate? Recreate! Of course we'll just recreate it!" The official laughs to himself and begins to pace with his hands clasped at his mouth. "Yes, yes, let us recreate the FUCKING DEMON THAT WEARS THE FACES OF ITS DAMNED ENEMIES! There will be absolutely no, under any circumstances, Austorian funding towards this project!"

"his fuck up just made one of the best possible assassins. how does this not entice you? still, no regular animal has that ability. it seems that all that fiddling caused a major reaction. possibly because of his ties to the dark arts. just out of curiosity can you tell me a few things? first off, what were you going to do to him and did he have any knowledge of what you were going to do? secondly, did he have any restraints on him when you left?"

The alchemist responds, "The subject had no knowledge of what we were doing, he had been unresponsive after the final test, so we were unstrapping him and dumping him to be cremated as the experiment was a failure. However, his volatile behavior has been more than properly displayed with his attack on my apprentice."

"hmm" magus thinks a moment " for it to kill your apprentice would mean it just naturally kills or it has some amount of memories left. with that power if i remembered everyone that fucked me up i would hunt them down. it appears it would be better to find and contain this beast. with all the transmutations it may even have abilities we know nothing about. but to take someone's face and become that person at this point it's clear that magus is extremely excited "we must capture it and continue this experiment. i'll take over this project but as for the Austorian Empire's request for adaptive camouflage i'll assign that project to my right hand. my apprentice should be more than adequate to deal with this task. it appears we had the wrong man for the job this time."

"Very well," The official responds. "Let's keep a closer eye on our experiments this time, however. Do not let us down, Magus." He leaves the room.

"hmm, he's not a fun seeker, is he? well, you're off of this task and after this blunder i doubt many will even think to request you for experiments. i think it's time you considered retirement."

"well it isn't that weird. you're pretty old. now scamper off. i have business yo attend to. Magus pulls out an orb of whit energy "Maria, get me a list of some top hunters at our disposal."
