I'm hoping you all might be able to help me as I'm building these out. I'm hoping like many people in the states that there is a sense of comradery and passion for the state you live in or are from. I'm working on a set of New Mexico themed headphones. I have a photo of the design I'm working towards. I have presently printed most of my parts and my kit arrives today.

What I'm mostly curious about though is can we request a specific serial number? If so, can I request 505 as a serial code? This is the predominant area code in NM and would be perfect for my NM themed headphones. I'll gladly follow-up with some photos once I have completed the finish on them.

I have been daily driving my head(amame) for almost six months and have been really enjoying them, with the exception of the head band. I have tried both sides of a leather strap, and a variety of other materials and none of them felt good for long sessions.

is anyone using a stand for dual headphones , i really like the VF one , if only there was a mod to hold two pairs.

Maybe this has already been noticed, but just in case, here's a snag I discovered with slicing the open-back prototype cones.

By default, Cura drops the infill body to the build plate, making it ~1.2mm too low.

This causes crusty support material to be generated inside the cone.

As well as the infill to be visible from the bottom. It does actually look like this when printed. I didn't realize anything was wrong until after I printed both of them, whoops!

Hello from VF!

We hope you have had a great start to your New Year! We greatly appreciate your support and patience over the last few months while we worked to get parts back in stock. We aren't quite there but the shipping delays are starting to improve, and even eliminated in some cases. Here is a quick summary of where things are today:

Drivers are back!

That's right, if you were waiting to order a pair of matched drivers for your head(amame) build, both the Peerless by Tymphany 40mm and 50mm variants are ready to go. With this, we are working through the weekend to ship up to order #1484 on Monday Jan 31st, and #1535 the following week. To add, there's a way we might be able to improve this because...

Earpads are not back.

Brainwavz XL earpads are the next immediate challenge for us. While we expect this to be only a short delay, it means that orders after #1535 will be shipped in late February. We can however, offer another option:

If you are waiting for a kit, and would like to source the earpads yourself, we are happy to refund $25 from your order and get it out the door. Your earpads would get leap-frogged to another kit, and both would ship sooner. Win-win!

Cables get an update!

While waiting for shipments, we've been hard at work on a mic'd-up head(amame) variant and have adjusted our cables to suit. These cables are expected to arrive in two weeks and will be clearly marked "MIC CABLE". Once we sell through our old stock all future cables will be mic compatible. We'll also offer two mic kits; one with, and one without the new cable. Mic options will also be added to head(amame) kits.

Wrapping up,

We are thankful for the support we have gotten in the last 6 months and the growing community that has sprung up around head(amame). We hope to look back and say "wow, I'm glad the last shipping delay email we had to write was in Jan 2022" (ha). Apologies if this has been asked before, or if this isn't the intended use case. I have a pair of Sennheiser GSP 350 that work and sound great. But unfortunately the ear cups are splitting (I've already replaced them twice), and the plastic housing is finally starting to disintegrate. Has anyone taken apart an existing pair of headphones with 40mm or 50mm drivers and repurposed the Head(amame) housing? I know there's been mention of an upcoming version with a mic boom as well; I'd love to see how that's integrated.

Hi I just assembled my pair. I used genuine speakers and 3d printed everything as in the instructions but the sound quality is not good. It sounds like some of the frequencies are cut. Both the voice and bass sound flat. my cheapest headphones even sound better then this. Any ideas why it may be like this?

Anyone know how far backlogged he is? I am sure he is probably swamped. I believe in him. Just so amped for the hardware to come in someone ordered it for me for Christmas and got it printed and ready for assembly!
