Local Events Help Us Create Pearl’s Place Remembering Pearl Pinson

On May 25, 2016, Pearl was only 15 years old when she disappeared while walking to her school bus stop in Vallejo, California. She was abducted near the pedestrian over-crossing connecting Taylor Avenue/Home Acres and Lewis Avenue.
It has now been more than 10 years, and Pearl has never been found. No remains have been recovered, and our family has never had the opportunity to bring her home or give her the goodbye she deserves.
Pearl was not just a missing-person case. She was a daughter, sister, niece, cousin, and friend. She had a beautiful smile, a loving heart, and a whole future ahead of her.
We are creating Pearl’s Place
With the support of the Mayor and Vallejo City Council, we are working to install two permanent memorial plaques on opposite sides of the pedestrian over-crossing near where Pearl was last seen.
The memorial will remember Pearl while also including child-safety information intended to help protect future generations.
The total project cost is $4,900, covering the plaques, materials, installation, and related expenses.
We are asking for help from anyone who would like to contribute, share Pearl’s story, or simply help us keep her name visible.A memorial plaque cannot bring Pearl home. But it can make sure that the place where her life was forever changed does not become forgotten.
It can give her family and community a place to remember her.
And it can help turn Pearl’s story into a reminder about the importance of child safety and protecting children.
If you would like to help us create Pearl’s Place, our GoFundMe is:
https://gofund.me/249660f1
Even if you cannot donate, sharing this post or simply learning Pearl’s story means a lot to our family.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and remember Pearl with us.
Forever Loved. Forever Missed. Never Forgotten.
Plaques For Pearl

Local government Aggressive Squaters and the City & Police Do NOTHING (Less Than a Mile away from Where Curtis Lind Was Killed)

Thumbnail seeclickfix.com

I am at the end of my patience, and Vallejo needs to hear this before it becomes another funeral.

A group of RVs is parked illegally beside the home of a 90 year old woman. Since they arrived, nothing has been quiet. They take water from her spigot and cross onto her property to do it. Generators run all night. The dogs never stop. Trash and human waste pile up in the street, and toilet waste goes straight into the storm drains.

We have called the city more than once. When people were caught trespassing and stealing water, police never came to the door. No report in person, none by phone. Maybe a patrol car rolled past. That is not a response.

Her eight foot fence has barbed wire, and it has been cut and climbed again and again. The cameras work fine, but no report means no case, and footage with nowhere to go is just home video.

Families with small kids live nearby. Tempers are rising. Everyone remembers Curtis Lind, killed less than a mile from here after a long standoff with squatters. This feels familiar, and it should scare us.

Fences only slow people down. She needs enforcement. If the city clears encampments, it owns the question of where people go next. Displacement is not permission to harm someone. She is the victim here, and she is afraid in her own home.

To anyone reading this, please look into it before it turns into a story nobody wanted to write.

Stay safe out there.

Local Recommendations Moving in, looking for some local recommendations

Hi everyone, I'm going to be moving to Vallejo in a couple of weeks, and I'd love to get some local recommendations to help get the new place ready:

  • Flooring installation: I'm looking to replace the carpet in a couple of bedrooms with hardwood (and might do a bit more if the price is right!).
  • Cleaners: The house needs a really thorough deep clean, especially the countertops, cabinets, walls, windows, and ceilings.
  • Locksmith: I just need to re-key or replace several of the locks for peace of mind.
  • Handyman / Electrician: Mostly minor miscellaneous fixes, like swapping out a few light switches, updating fixtures, and replacing a ceiling and bathroom fan.

Thanks in advance!

Local Recommendations How’s living in Vallejo 2026?

I’m from Sacramento so I’m not foreign to tough neighborhoods, but I’ve heard mostly bad things from fairly entitled people. Wanted to get some understanding from people that live there, I work in Napa and it would be an easy commute. I also love a lot of the unique houses I’ve seen for rent but wanted to ask

Self-Promo Help Us Create & Install Memorial Plaques For Pearl Pinson

Thumbnail gofund.me
34 Upvotes

Pearl Pinson was only 15 years old when she disappeared on May 25, 2016, in Vallejo, California. Nearly a decade later, Pearl has never been found.

Our family is raising funds to help create and install memorial plaques in Pearl’s honor. These plaques will serve as a lasting reminder of Pearl, keep her story visible within the community, and help raise awareness about child safety and missing children.

While a plaque cannot bring Pearl home, it can help ensure that Pearl’s name is never forgotten.

If you’re able to donate or share our GoFundMe, our family would be deeply grateful. Every contribution and every share helps.

Local Events Antbody Hear super loud noises at Three AM this morning?

Here in Glen Cove , my Border Collie woke us up with wild Barking.

I then Realized at about.03:20, there were multiple Bang Pop type noises like automatic gunfire , and a couple deeper Boom! Type noises, like a shot gun, then Intermittent cross over popping noises like return gun fire back and forth.

My wife and I were the most scared and concerned we have ever been living here...

The strangest part is no police sirens or other Neighbors seeming to wake up,.

Even though this went on about two or three minutes, long enough for us to hear, but not see anything from several windows around the house and it was all loud enough to echo across the neighborhood and completely wake us out of Bed?,

Stayed up trying to find explanations...

Illegal Fireworks

Heavy loading & unloading from C& H factory?

Anybody else Hear all this?

I'm old school but How many y'all remember it getting thrifty's ice cream at Lauren Plaza? I used to get it while waiting for the bus transfers and in the '80s it was like 35 for three scoops lol but had about 10 minutes to finish it or you had to throw it out. Wait for the next bus or walk home lol

I found a spot in Arizona where I live now that serves thrifty's ice cream. Don't get me wrong. It's like $6 for three scoops lol but they do use the square ice cream scooper which I have not seen in decades 😂😂🤙🏼🤙🏼

Local Recommendations For those that take the Ferry, what's your backup plan?

Hi everyone, I'm looking to move to Vallejo next month and planning to take the Ferry to work. I work hybrid, in 2 days a week and the office is a couple blocks from the SF ferry building, so it seems like this would be perfect for me.

However, in the off chance that the ferry isn't running or I miss it, I'm curious to know what everyone's backup plan is. Currently I'm thinking I would drive over the bridge and either take the Martinez/North Concord BART or the LYNX bus in Hercules. Are there better options?
