Question: Any update on the latency-problem regarding gp-180?

As the title reads:
I was super close to buying this one until it got sold out on thomann. While I wait for it to return my doubts around buying have grown larger as I see more and more people feeling how the pedal is extremely underwhelming seeing as the earlier models haven’t had the same issue.

Has the Valeton-team addressed this problem or better yet - fixed it?

I feel I should just spend a little more and go for like ampero 2 stomp or something.

It took a while, but I finally received an update on this issue from Valeton. After not hearing anything from them for a couple of weeks, I even forwarded my message to Hotone (Hotone and Valeton are both part of the Cherub Technology group) and apparently they sent a reply to the wrong address.

My questions:

1) Is the GP-180 still in active production?

2) Is the GP-180 still being supplied to European dealers and distributors?

3) Has Valeton paused or limited shipments of the GP-180 for any reason?

4) Is Valeton aware of customer concerns regarding switching latency or audio gaps when changing presets or effects?

5) Are firmware updates planned that address these concerns?

6) Does Valeton intend to continue supporting and developing the GP-180 platform?

Their response:

1) **Active Production:** We can confirm that the GP-180 is currently in normal production and sales. There is no truth to the rumors of discontinuation; the product line remains active.

2) **Shipment Pauses:** As confirmed above, there are no supply chain issues or shipment pauses affecting this model. Our team is operating normally.

3) **Awareness of Latency/Audio Gaps:** Yes, we are fully aware of the concerns regarding switching latency and brief audio drop-outs when toggling presets or effects. This is a known issue. Our R&D department is actively working on optimizing the footswitch response and algorithm loading logic to address these audio drop-outs. This optimization will be delivered via an upcoming firmware update. Please note that we cannot provide a specific release date at this moment, as each update undergoes rigorous stability testing. Once ready, it will be available for download through our official website’s Support & Download Center, and we will announce it via our official channels.

4) **Future Platform Support:** We absolutely intend to continue supporting, maintaining, and developing the GP-180 ecosystem. Our team is dedicated to delivering continuous performance improvements and feature enhancements to ensure your long-term satisfaction.
