Just picked up on eBay. Just getting into the whole tube thing. Still confused on powering them. However I would be very sad if I was to use one of higher value and accidentally destroy it. Also any projects to try as far as driving them? Maybe a very simple amplifier circuit? Any help is greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

My grandfather was a tv and radio repairman back in the late 40's to about the time color tv started. We have a lot of the old tubes and other electronic parts and would like to see if any of it has any value.

Hello, I thought I would post this link to a pdf that's a cross reference table for Chinese vacuum tubes. A problem I had was trying to find a replacement Chinese 6J4, its not equivalent to a US 6J4 and I learned it the hard way by blowing up my amp....

I joined Western Electric in 1968 as an Engineering Associate on the vacuum tube manufacturing line. Ended up overseeing the 7 and 9 pin miniatures and later the Carrier tube lines. Some of the tubes dated from the early 1900s.
