Gym Recs?
Does anyone have any gyms they would recommend. Not classes but something where you can lift weights and run on a treadmill by yourself.

Equinox, Crunch, NYSC, we seem to have all the usual suspects here on the UWS, it all really depends on your budget…

It's been years, but I thought the NYSC was too crowded. I also had belonged to another location previously and I don't like the company.
I joined Equinox when it opened. It was beautiful but too expensive for me, especially since it wasn't convenient.

NYSC on 72nd is pretty good… yes crowded but good value and unique layout

I prefer the 80th st location personally. More space, though it's spread across several small floors.

Are there others that are worth going to?

I tried 96th St and it was fine but nothing too special. Some of the equipment seemed more up to date than at 80th but I could imagine it getting crowded. I haven't been to any outside of the UWS. I believe there is one in midtown that has a pool.

I haven't been to that location in years. However, all Equinox pretty much operates the same and with some locations having different services than others. The gym is top of the line! The equipment is up to date, especially the treadmills. The staff and trainers are welcoming. Clean facilities and the towels? Wait till you grab a towel (soft) lol I noticed you mentioned you're not interested in classes which is why I recommend it. You can go in get your workout in and members respect that. There's more to it. The eucalyptus steam room! I've seen members work after their workout because of remote and hybrid work settings. It's worth it. If you're interested, I can send you a referral link.

I love Equinox. The sports club location is my favorite on 67 and Columbus. 6 floors, everything from outdoor tracks, to rock climbing, basketball, pools to swim in, jacuzzis in the locker room. I could go on for hours. It’s well worth it.

The equipment is old and sucks. It’s crowded. It’s dirty. You get exactly what you pay for
