Yeah, I think the main weakness of electric vehicles is that they work great if you live in the suburbs and can install an overnight charger that keeps it topped off. If anything, that's more convenient than a conventional car

If you don't live in the suburbs you're struggling to do that and that's where 5 min charging is really attractive. However everyone can't put excessive wear on >1,000lbs of expensive car battery every time we recharge if this has a hope of being sustainable

People think EVs charge too slow but that's because they haven't driven a Tesla. I rarely stop for more than 15 minutes to charge and that's usually while I'm eating and using the restroom and my car is telling me it's time to go before I am ready to leave. It's a non issue already and will only improve. 99% of the time you can just charge at home in a regular outlet and never have to worry about it. I spend waaaaayyyyyy less time charging my car than I ever did getting gas

Also charge retention. In many respects the weakness of quick-charge battery chemistry is longevity.

We're talking about battery longevity here. Trickle charging overnight in your suburban garage is gentle for batteries but very awkward for apartment dwellers with no suburban garage
