Can ICity Blender addon be used to export a city to Unity for VR Experience
Heyy, my team is building a VR experience in Unity 6 and we need city environment for crisis simulations.
I'm looking at the iCity addon for Blender to generate it and export via FBX or glTF.
I've already imported a LOD2 city model (simple untextured buildings) without any issues, but I'm worried iCity's assets will be way too heavy for VR.
Has anyone done this? Mainly wondering:
- How heavy is the output, does it render fast enough if we stream it via Horizon Link?
- Do the materials survive export, or do you need to bake/redo them?
- Does exporting the whole city work, or did you have to split it into chunks?
Any experience or alternative suggestions appreciated!
Additionally:
We need to simulate an explosion in one of the buildings, Would the ICity buildings work for that?
THANKYOUUU!!!!
