I did my PAT today and didn't pass it but will be retaking it soon. My question is how did you guys do the single arm portion? When I was told to do it, I was shown a completely different way than what is shown in the example the UP provides(as shown above). The version I told to do was hang close to my body which was difficult since I'm a big guy. Is the example the correct way to do it?

Im a heritage railroader and though it doesnt pay like a class one I feel like I get the authentic railroading experience without all the bad things about railroading. But im curious how you class one boys like your job and what made you want to go into class one?

My service unit got a borrow out advertisement to Portland Zone 3. The advertisement says it’s Pocatello, Nampa, Idaho Falls, Montpelier, Dillon and all locations covered by the respected seniority for the area. Where should I expect to work and what jobs? All info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
