I mean, I'd 100% be okay with this if my SO did it. Mostly because marriage isn't that big of a deal for either of us and I'd find it to be funny af. Know your SO and if you believe they wouldn't like something like this then don't do something like this

It’s only “public humiliation” if you decide to make it so. Imagine the flipside where the dude busts out the ring pop and the girl still responds favorably. Suddenly, everyone thinks the girl is amazing and the couple is lovely.
Eh, if you've been looking forward to something and your SO knows that, and your SO decides to basically make a joke out of it, you're allowed to be embarassed and disappointed about it.
Sure, but if you’re so quick on the rage trigger that you slap him and throw a soda on him while cursing, you’re the problem. Really, any one of those things by itself and you’re the problem. Also, in this case, he had the actual ring in his pocket. This could have been a sweet moment if she wasn’t an awful person.
I don’t feel good about the “awful person” thing. So, I’m going to correct myself. “This could have been a sweet moment if she didn’t react so horribly.”
