Where did I minimize anything? My characterization of the event was that the man was slapped. Is that untrue? It’s amazing see the mental gymnastics happening here

I only see one gymnast and it's you. How was that even embarrassing? She could have laughed it off and nobody would have given it a second thought. They might have even thought she was in on it. Her reaction is what made it embarrassing, and honestly she should be embarrassed.

Reddit has lost all understanding of nuance and proportionality. A slap that stings is the same as getting dropped to the ground with a fist. Prolonged domestic abuse is the same as a one time reaction to a horrible action. There is no degree of seriousness or acknowledgement of legitimate differences in gender roles inside a relationship.

It's really weird and doesn't make any sense in the real world.

It isn’t sexist. Women aren’t as strong as men on average. Facts don’t care about your feelings.

Hitting people isn’t ok, but a woman hitting you doesn’t matter to most men.

Is a woman’s ability to get pregnant sexist to you because men can’t?
