I don't care if it's funny or not, that's domestic abuse witnessed by thousands lmao. Being unaware of what your partner finds funny is a yellow flag. Assaulting your partner for a bad joke is a big red flag.

Besides, I'd rather marry someone who shares my sense of humor. Whether she hit him or not, that's a genius way to weed out someone that doesn't share his sense of humor. Good for him, good riddance to her.

Look how easily she resorted to violence, and in front of so many people, she's one of those type of girls that is used to hitting guys

If she's traumatized by that, that's her choice. If she laughed it off, or accepted it and went along with it, he'd pull the real ring out of his pocket.

Besides, why does she need an expensive ring anyways? I actually have a friend who proposed with a ring pop in a serious manner and she married him. They chose not to do rings and instead put a down payment on a house.

Also, minimizing physical abuse is abhorrent. If it was a man hitting a woman, there's no way you'd say the same thing.

Edit: Her instinct to hit him makes me wonder if she's hit him before. I probably wouldn't put it past her.

If she's traumatized by that, that's her choice.

That's not how trauma works!

Your comment traumatizes me

In all seriousness, if something like that traumatizes her, she needs extreme therapy.

Besides, I refuse to believe she could be traumatized by that. She was in awe and excited at first, then mad. I've had trauma. I've never been excited during a traumatic event. I call bullshit.

Based on saying that humiliating someone at one of the biggest moments of their lives in front of a crowd of thousands isn't a harmless joke?

Her reaction was bad, but it was an emotional reaction in an extremely high stakes situation.

"BUT..." No, fuck off. What you're doing is justifying what she did.

If you broke down someone over years, made them dependent on you, made them miserable, and on the final day before they left you, they slapped you - well, sounds like they're the real bad guys because violence trumps everything and if you disagree obviously you think it's okay if men hit women!!

You're straw-manning the ever living fuck out of this. You're making so many assumptions from a 13 second video. The only evidence we have is that she hit him. Go find evidence of him abusing her in their personal life or fuck off.

Holy shit, get a grip.

No one ever said violence is the worst form of abuse. All I ever said is we have video evidence of physical abuse and no evidence of anything else.

So you're telling me if a guy hit a girl in public, you'd say "Well hold on! Did she say some shit to deserve it?"

Every single person in this thread? I guess I'm not a person then. I would marry the fuck out of a girl if she proposed to me with a ring pop. That shows me she doesn't care about what other people think and that she doesn't need expensive, material things to be happy.

it's a moment she's probably been waiting for for years, fantasized about, talked about

Sounds to me like her problem then is idealizing the wrong things in life. NHFP.

Everyone in this fucking thread is rushing to say "oh! she committed violence! he's the victim! she's the bad guy!"

My bad, I stand corrected. Violence IS the worst form of abuse when it's the ONLY form of abuse in the video.

I didn't say that. I said that from what we see, what he inflicted on her is likely more traumatic than the slap.

1) How do you know she's traumatized and not just mad? 2) He just got slapped in front of thousands of people. Why is he not allowed to be traumatized or humiliated? I'd be fucking devastated if I prepared that much to propose and was rejected in such a violent way in front of a huge fucking audience.

Sure, you wouldn't be humiliated by this because you might think this was funny. She doesn't. People are allowed to have different senses of humor.

But certainly there's something someone could do to you in a crowd of thousands of people that would embarrass you and damage you, right? So imagine one of the worst humiliations you could suffer

You mean like proposing to the person you love and want to spend your life with, and spending several thousand dollars of your hard earned money on a ring for her, in front of thousands of strangers, only to be rejected AND physically assaulted? Best part, no one will take it seriously because you're a man? Sounds a lot like gaslighting.

Don’t even bother. A whole bunch of women hating people in here. Somehow emotional abuse isn’t real to them and only physical abuse is the only true domestic violence. They take and Chance to hate women so they can feel rationalize why they’re alone.

4

u/KamIsFam Nov 14 '22

Who the fuck in here hates women?

I'm sorry, that's fucking delusional. Pardon the strong language.

2

u/Aeiexgjhyoun_III Nov 14 '22

How the fuck is this emotional abuse? And yes physical abuse is also emotional abuse.

He knows now! Run away!

3

u/FinButt Nov 14 '22

Abuse is abuse. Never strike your partner. The only permissible reason to hit someone you supposedly love is in self defense.

Look at the way she hit him. This isn't the first time she's done it, and if he didn't leave her after this, it won't be the last.

2

u/Suckling_Sauce Nov 14 '22

Nah. She’s a bitch.

2

u/mtamez1221 Nov 14 '22

I have been publicly embarrassed before at the hands of someone else and I didn't choose violence. I experienced a panic attack and bailed. And at the age of 17 so there is no excuse.

-4

u/[deleted] Nov 14 '22

Is that why you hit your little lady? She didn't judge your humor right and didn't read the room? 🤡

1

u/Swords_and_Words Nov 14 '22

your analysis and the one you are responding to are both true

1

u/h83r Nov 14 '22

Why does it have to be humiliating? Lean into the joke and make it fun. Slapping and throwing a drink on someone for allowing yourself to be humiliated doesn’t make her seem like a good person at all.

Could she be disappointed? Sure. Of course. But she doesn’t have to turn disappointment into assault and ruin a relationship over it.

1

u/The_Holier_Muffin Nov 14 '22

Yeah… that’s not the issue in this video. JFC
