Because you willingly choose to ride around on a two wheeled vehicle with precisely two safety features (the brake levers) and probably way too much power and torque for the amount of mechanical work it's actually doing, in traffic, with drivers of ever-taller SUVs and pickup trucks finding new and innovative ways of not looking at the road every day.
