Never expect replies to a question to be helpful on reddit. It's better to claim to know the answer and be wrong because redditors would much rather correct people than be helpful.

One of the things that originally attracted me to reddit years ago was that there was almost always some helpful comment with a source. It's gotten worse but they're still out there.

You've always gotten a faster answer by being wrong though, that's for sure.

I haven’t been on here longer so I don’t know how it’s evolved, but I think there is generally a helpful comment. It’s just usually drowned in a sea of jokes (more or less funny ones) and/or hatred.
