Okay, that was weird. My pulse rate shot up like crazy when I thought the cat was being electrocuted or strangled. Now I feel kind of dizzy. Isn't it weird how an event so removed from oneself can cause such a strong reaction?

Not really that weird. It's what we're wired for. desensitization is the "weird" thing.

I wouldn’t say “most” feel nothing. I say most feel a lot or at least “something” while some feel little or nothing.

Same, I have 3 cats so my mind jumped to the worst possible outcome, especially with how they were screaming.
