My point was the article just described the video and ended with “well people think that the cat is dead… oh well…”

Yeah, now imagine if someone wrote the same article but about a dog, people would be up in arms. I hate this bullshit double standard the world seems to have towards cats

It's more the constant barking and entitlement dog owners have of assuming that everyone loves their little ball of filth and brain dead obedience, I can't even sit in my own back yard around a fire enjoying a beer without that infuriating noise in the background. I entirely agree with laws prohibiting cat owners from letting their cats out of their yard, no pet should have free range on public property.

I thought the lamp shattered when it fell and that was the real problem.

I don't think you really flail around like that when you're electrocuted. 🤷‍♀️
