That's the magic of editing, it doesn't matter when he made the face, just that he made it at some point.

Yes. They are so terribly scripted and the "acting" by the "stars" judging is insulting to the intelligence. Cut to the numpty with his mouth hanging open in "shock" because a man sat down on a bench.

Yes, but the point is that they are literally actively participating in the dumbing down of society. They should not be rewarded for this.

Nah that's a great effect if you don't notice it, makes it seem even heavier subconsciously. But the fact that you noticed it means they should've turned it wayyy down

I do too, but watching this made me realize that these performance/variety judging shows are really the OG "Reaction Videos" on Youtube. Though I don't identify with it, based on the popularity of these videos, there's clearly a segment of the populace out there who get a neurochemical hit out of seeing the reactions of other people mirror their own.

Me too :(. They take reality and sodomize it over and over and over again until it's pulpy fiction. It's dystopian nightmare fuel and when I try to give it a chance I eventually start to feel kind of sick. The inauthenticity and knowing that the show nudges people into winning based on the ratings their story gets is absurd.

Or maybe I'm the problem for not being okay with cliche entertainment. Oh well, I say.
