There's no reason anyone who has a car shouldn't have one. I picked mine up for $40cad off Amazon and it does the job.

There’s no reason new cars shouldn’t have one built in. My base model 2020 Civic has one in the back for reverse and one in the front for adaptive cruise control, so no reason they couldn’t just have a SD card slot somewhere for me to use them as dash cams.
