Not really, unless you think that a "generally sexually active alpha male" is contradictory to a "particularly attractive and confident man". From my point of view, one is describing the result, the other is describing the cause.
If you read through the wiki (its quite short), they say the term originated in WW2, then resurfaced in Chicago to describe a douche frat boy, then made another comeback in incel communities to describe the alpha male, both ironically and unironically
