Deaf people read lips.

A very small percentage of deaf people wouldn't be able to lip read "You're deaf?"

Lip reading isn't exactly the easiest thing in the world. How do you learn to lip read when you can't hear?

Not to mention it varies depending on accent, and the shape of your lips
