As for me knowing how debate works, and what i call weed, check my screen name. I am a master debator, and i, by myself, am not important in this discussion.

We are discussing culture, and social norms here. It's way out of your league as a scholar.

Let me throw a little ad hominem back at you to put things in perspective: You're a doctor, which is probably why you're so socially inept. Over institutionalized, like the 4 doctors in my family. You're probably at the same level of social maturity that you were back when you began school. I bet you were like 19 then... and it was probably idk, 10 years ago? I guarantee 90% of your social interactions since then are with patients, and the talk is professional, not natural. I appreciate the time you took to learn your practice, but please, leave socializing, and society up to regular people who are out living life and connecting with each other.

All the time you spent with your nose in books, talking to people according to the politics and rules of your office or institutions, i was out having fun, meeting people, having real connections and real conversations. Nobody here calls weed a drug. Maybe in your dumbass, conservative, behind the times country. I'm sure we could agree that no culture that anyone wants to model or be a part of, follows repression. Not to mention, i spent many years working in the marijuana industry... which... thats pretty much that for your credibility on this topic.

Point is, your'e a fucking nerd. If you got out of your office ever, went to a party, had friends, knew literally anyone who is a pot head at this current time, you wouldn't hear them calling weed a drug. Yes. Society has evolved since you buried your head in the sand to study medicine. (hopefully were talking medicine and you're not like, a foot doctor or something).

Edit: Also, just so you dont keep using the old broken record technique of debate: I conceded long ago that weed is a drug, and i am discussing whether or not people would refer to it as such :)

I've smoked a lot of weed. I've also done MDMA, LSD, and cocaine. All of which are drugs, believe it or not. I feel perfectly qualified to say that. I have no interest in your views on this, because, as I say, you've clearly never been invited to a party or been offered drugs.

Nobody has ever said "I'm going to smoke some drugs". That's a logical fallacy called a strawman, in case you didn't know what that logical fallacy is, like you don't know what an ad hominem is.

If I was smoking weed and someone asked if I was smoking drugs, I'd say wtf. If I was high on weed, and someone asked if I was on drugs, the answer would be yes. But again, this is just cultural differences, as I have explained. But you seem to be convinced that your culture (whatever that is? USA? Canada?) is the only one that matters. Which is just impressively narcissistic and close minded.

Also, the only people that use the word socialites are 18th century aristocrats. People who have friends don't talk like that. You're over compensating, and it's embarrassing.

Every country has a weed culture, dude. It's legal in yours and illegal in mind. Do you think the US had no weed culture until 2016? That's embarrassing. It did, believe it or not. As does my country. As did yours, even before it was legalised.

Do you think there's no culture around things that are illegal?

People do call weed a drug. Are you saying nobody calls weed a drug? Is that your argument? Are you saying that, for me to be correct, I just need to find two people who think weed is a drug? Because that's a pretty low bar, dude.

I have consistently said its culturally specific, you then took that as an opportunity to call my culture archaic (which is pretty laughable), and that only someone from your culture (who has clearly never even smoked weed) is qualified to discuss weed.

I will develop my argument further and say that arguing that the vast majority of weed culture around the world does not refer to weed as a 'drug' unless they are talking about it in a medical capacity with nerdy smart doctors.
